Celebrate the mariners and maritime lovers in your life by making a gift to SCI in their honor—perfect for birthdays, anniversaries, career milestones, or any special occasion. We’ll send you a receipt and your honoree a personal letter letting them know of your thoughtful gift (without disclosing the amount). Their name will also appear in our Annual Report.

You can also make a gift in memory of someone special. At your request, we’ll notify their family or friends that you’ve honored their loved one with a donation to SCI.

Double Your Impact for Mariners
Many employers match charitable gifts, often dollar-for-dollar, meaning your support for mariners and seafarers can go twice as far. Check with your HR department to see if your company offers matching gifts, then note it when you donate to SCI (use “Donation Comments” when you use our online form). We’ll work with your employer to ensure your match is counted and maximized.

Divide Your Gifts into Installments
By setting up automatic credit card payments, you provide SCI with reliable, year-round support for mariners and seafarers. This steady income helps us plan effectively and manage resources wisely throughout the year. Even modest weekly or monthly gifts add up to make a significant impact. You can set this up using our online form: select “Recurring Gift” at the top.

One of the most cost-effective ways to support the Seamen’s Church Institute is with shares of stock that have increased in value since their purchase or acquisition. Generally, you may be entitled to claim a charitable tax deduction for the current market value of the stock, and may pay no capital gains tax on any appreciation.
